IRSAT is committed to conducting research on the energy (biomass, biogas, solar cooking technologies)
Within IRSAT, the DTA (Department of Food Technology) conducts R&D on traditional food processing and preserving in Burkina Faso. Researchers work on products characterization, traditional processes and consumption (food fermentations…), for value-added processing and improvement of food nutritional quality and safety. The team has expertise in technology transfer to SMEs.
